Toasted sub pioneer launches new $4 Toasty Torpedo™ sandwich

March 23, 2009, Denver, CO – Quiznos, one of the nation’s premier restaurant chains for sandwiches, salads and soups, and pioneer of the toasted sandwich, today announced the launch of new Toasty Torpedoes, a whole new kind of sandwich. Inspired by the famous slim and tasty Italian and French baguette sandwiches served in Europe, the sandwiches are prepared on extra-long and extra-slim ciabatta bread and come in a sleeve to make them easy to eat. With more than a foot of flavor and priced at only $4.00 at participating locations, these new sandwiches aim to set the standard for value, convenience and taste.

“The addition of Toasty Torpedo sandwiches to our menu allows people to enjoy the great taste of Quiznos for just $4,” said Rebecca Steinfort, Chief Marketing Officer for Quiznos. “We realize that almost everyone is feeling the pinch in today’s economy. An important way that Quiznos can help ease that stress is by offering people terrific value without sacrificing quality and taste, a gesture that started in January with our ongoing New Lower Prices campaign.”.

The long, slender Toasty Torpedo sub comes in a specially designed paper sleeve that makes it compact and easy to eat on the go. The original packaging was created to fit the extended sandwich and give consumers a more manageable way to enjoy a sub.

“At over a foot in length, Toasty Torpedoes are truly a culinary innovation,” added Chef Zach Calkins, Executive Chef for Quiznos. “The combination of our butcher-quality meats, real cheeses and fresh produce served on artisan breads, brought to full flavor through oven toasting – and then delivered in a unique sleeve – gives our customers a whole new way to enjoy Quiznos’ signature taste.”

Toasty Torpedoes are available in five varieties, each made individually to order, including:

• Italian: Pepperoni, spicy capicola, ham, mozzarella cheese and red wine vinaigrette topped with crisp lettuce and chopped tomatoes

• Big Kahuna Tuna: Tuna salad, cheddar cheese, sliced banana peppers topped with crisp lettuce and chopped tomatoes

• Pesto Turkey: Thinly-sliced oven-roasted turkey, red wine vinaigrette, mozzarella cheese and basil pesto topped with crisp lettuce and chopped tomatoes

• Turkey Club: Thinly-sliced oven-roasted turkey, crisp bacon, red wine vinaigrette, mozzarella cheese and mayo topped with crisp lettuce and chopped tomatoes

• Beef, Bacon & Cheddar: Thinly-sliced roast beef, crisp bacon, mayo, cheddar cheese,

and mustard topped with crisp lettuce and chopped tomatoes
